Sitecore Symposium 2022 – Meet Every Moment - Small recap

Every year, Sitecore organizes their yearly worldwide Symposium event. This event has an outreach across all customers, technical & platform partners as well as all relevant representatives of the technical team that is building the Sitecore ecosystem. This event typically spans across 3 days, followed by 1.5 days of in-depth product and technical sessions offered uniquely to MVP profiles (Most Valuable Professional).

This year’s Chicago-based edition was host to 2500 attendees, over 100 speakers and keynote sessions from October 17-20th.

Since The Reference (EPAM) is a Platinum Sitecore partner with 3 MVPs, we attend this event on a yearly basis. The corona pandemic wrought its disruptor role here as well, causing this Symposium to be the first real-life event over the course of 2-3 years.

As the market has shifted considerably over the last two years, due to technology advances and preferences such as Composable, Headless, SaaS platforms, lightweight platforms, no-code, or low-code platforms, the Sitecore platform had to evolve along with the market demands. This already set the scene for what would become a very interesting and eye-opening Symposium.

Turns out that the Symposium and MVP-Summit did not disappoint at all. Both were jam-packed with loads of sessions and keynotes on platform changes, new platform announcements and detailed sessions with either real-life cases or hands-on development & functional examples.

Instead of listing all the topics and relevant sessions, we would like to provide you a summarized overview of all the current platforms Sitecore has to offer within their portfolio:

If you are looking for more information or require more detailed information on any one of the above topics, feel free to reach out to us. We’ll be more than happy to provide more clarification or product information.

As a main take-away and conclusion of this years Symposium, we would like to offer you the following:

“Sitecore has clearly set sail into the modern digital landscape and has done so without forgetting where they hail from. Their capabilities and USP’s remain deeply nested within their portfolio which entails a myriad of products that can cover your every need. However, unlike before, Sitecore has finally acknowledged that customers require flexibility and has done so by embracing the composable nature of modern-day architecture. Customers can now choose and integrate those platforms that they love and prefer with even more flexibility as before.

Now that the Sitecore platform has set sail, the journey has just begun, with the ever-changing horizon as its end destination. And to continue the nautical analogy, where the Sitecore platform used to be perceived as one vast Galleon, it is moving forward as a fleet of strong vessels, each with their own capabilities, able to adjust to whatever situation that arises.”
